1. Tools Feature

1.1: To reassign switches, changing switch names or icons go to “Tools” under menu. Only the Admin has the access to “Tools”.

1.2: Tools under menu you can rename “Entity” to Home, Office or your Desired Entity. Under that you can rename “Room” to the desired Room name like Drawing Room, Bedroom, Director Room etc. After giving the desired entity and room names press “CHANGE IT” to register the change.

1.3: After that, as you observed in Switchboard, you can reassign the switch names and change the appliance icons.


- You can change the given appliance name
- Press the appliance tiny icon to change the icon to desired icon in Switchboard
- Press “FIX IT” to register the changes

Please note you can also check the list of byteHome devices of which you are the Admin.

2. Assigning Child/Secondary user

2.1: You can assign a secondary user who will have the access to the Switchboard. The Child user has to download the app. The new user will have to follow the registration process described in Base Setup and input the device key in (+) button option in byteHome app main Page.

2.2: After that Admin will receive a notification in his mobile and accept the Child User request.
2.3: Process of Assigning or Rejecting Child User:



- Admin will to “Pending List” under from her/his Mobile

- Admin will select the room name and find the list of pending request. From there the Admin will click on the request for Child User

- Admin will select “Activate” to accept a child user request or select “Deactivate” to decline the Child user request . If the Admin accepts the new Child user will gain access to the “Switchboard” and control the switches under the specific byteHome device.

N.B: Please note in Multiple devices can be installed and multiple child users can be assigned


3. Transferring Ownership/Admin rights

3.1: In this case the previous owner has to pass on the secret key to the new owner for ownership/admin transfer.

3.2: If not already a registered user the new Admin has to download the app first and complete the registration process as described in section 1.2.1 which is the registration process

3.3: Using the Secret Key:



- Then the new admin will enter the old secret key and gain access as admin. Press the three dot button. A new window will appear.

- Input the secret key and click “VERIFY IT”. Now you have gained the Admin rights. A new secret key will also be sent to new Admin. And this code also has to be preserved for further changes

4. Phone Lost/Change Scenario

4.1: TThe admin has to download the app and register with old credentials (same phone number and email address) as described in registration process as described in Base Setup.

4.2: Then the admin will enter the old secret key and gain access as admin by following Using the Secret Key process

4.3: Also, after using the secret key a new secret key will be sent to the admin’s registered email address


5. Checking Device status of byteHome device

5.1: You can check the device status from the “Switchboard” of a specific room by clicking the blue button at bottom right corner.

6. All Users and Child User Deactivation process


6.1: You can check the number of Child users for the byteHome devices of which you are the Admin of from “All Users” option under menu

6.2: Clicking on each device name will show the number Child users under that device and their online Status.

6.3: If you want to Deactivate any Child user then click on the User name and press the deactivate option.

7. Contact


7.1: You can contact us for any kind of query. Press the “Contact” option under menu in main page to get contact details.

7.2: Our call center is open between 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day except Fridays and National Holidays. Clicking on any of the given contact modes will redirect user to the specific contact mode. For Example if you press on the mobile number you will be making a direct phone call or if you press the address you will be shown the location on Google Map.
